Real Club de Golf El Prat

Many national and international tournaments have been held at one of Spains finest golf courses, Real Club de Golf El Prat. Close by to the bustling capital of Cataluyna, Barcelona. This 45 hole layout is without a doubt one of the finest golf clubs in Spain.

This exclusive 3645-hole golf course has just been named as one of the 125 Platinum golf courses in the world and is a true gem with five-star prestige. located 35 minutes from the city centre of Barcelona. Founded in 1912, it is one of the few clubs to have the “Real” royal title bestowed on it by King Alfonso XIII

Most of the greatest golfers of all time, such as Spain’s Severiano Ballesteros, have played the fairways of El Prat over the years. Sergio Garcia and  Pablo Larrazábal are in fact both members.

The Club has 45 holes designed by the legendary Australian Golfer Greg Norman. The course can be enjoyed over an exciting mix of three highly regarded course configurations – Pink, Yellow and Green. The Stadium Course at PGA Catalunya

The Stadium Course has occupied one of the top places in the European golf course rankings since it debuted in 1999, regularly ranking in the top ten in continental Europe and was ranked the best course in Spain in 2019. Designed for hosting various PGA European Tour events.

The vistas add to the charm and the highlight is the breathtaking backdrop of the Pyrenees Mountains.

The golf course was designed by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo. Both highly respected and influential figures in the world of European golf over the past four decades.

Every hole features tall pines, pristine fairways, and meadow land lined with heather. It is a technically challenging course for golfers of a decent to intermediate ability. The golf course boasts some very challenging holes yet still being an absolute joy to play.

PGA Catalunya Golf Club staged the Spanish Open in 2000 and has returned for two subsequent events in 2009 and 2014. 

With the 18 Hole Tour course adjacent making up the 36 holes on offer. The PGA Catalyuna Resort has quickly become one of the most popular in Spain.

Llavaneras Golf Club

Llavaneras Golf Club is one of the best golf courses near Barcelona in Catalunya. The city centre of Barcelona is only 30 minutes away by car.  Llavaneras Golf Club, which has a 75-year history, is a golf course where you can enjoy a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. The course is playable for golfers of all ages and handicaps. 

On your next trip to Barcelona  you can enjoy this stunning golf course that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and has some breath-taking views. The course is also renowned for one of the most visually appealing holes in Spain, the Par 4 17th hole, which boasts some breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and has even won awards.  

Fred Hawtree was the man responsible for the initial design of the course and this could easily be considered to be the best hidden gems in Spain.

Golf Platja de Pals

Again another Fred Hawtree design. Pals golf course, located in a vast pine forest beside Pals beach, is a course that can be enjoyed by all levels of players, from the most inexperienced to the most accomplished. Numerous professional and amateur national and European tournaments have been held there over its 50-year history. 

Because of its design and construction, the course has since been regarded as one of the best in Spain. Although Pals is technically not considered Barcelona Region and in fact the Costa Brava, We felt it was worthy of a mention and actually only just over an hour and a half from the Catalan Capital. 

Golf Club Barcelona

Previously known as Masia Bach Golf Club, this highly rated Jose Maria Olazábal course is beautifully maintained and has hosted numerous professional tournaments including the 2007 Catalonia Ladies Masters, part of the Ladies European Tour. A fabulous stay and play venue just 28k from Las Ramblas.

This is actually a rather fabulous base for a Barcelona golf tour. Golf on-site and short drives to some of the finest golf courses in Northern Spain.
